HISTORIC AND BOTANIC GARDEN BURSARY SCHEME - STRENGTHENING THE UK'S HORTICULTURAL HERITAGE

Finnis-Scott Award

PGG

The Finnis Scott Award supports short - term opportunities for professional gardeners to experience new garden environments and horticultural establishments which differ from their own, where they can either develop their existing skills, or learn new skills to enrich their regular work and work place. The award will be granted to gardeners planning a secondment, job shadowing or an exchange of staff.

The Award is granted annually from the investment income generated by The Finnis Scott Fund (currently around £1000 per annum) and is administered by The Professional Gardeners Guild Trust ( registered Charity 1101169). Application for funding may be granted in full or in part at the discretion of the Trustees.

The Award is flexible, the Trustees recognise that support may need to take a number of forms, covering, for example, loss of earnings, the cost of backfill whilst the gardener is away, accommodation, transport costs and travel insurance. The Award may not be used support the purchase of food or photographic equipment nor may it be used to support the study of plants in the wild.
