This course is designed to be of value to all garden staff working in the front line dealing with plant enquiries from the general public. The days programme will provide information relating to plant labels and link together the knowledge participants already have, correct and misconceptions and provide a series of helpful pointers.

The morning will be centred in the classroom and will include:

• Fundamental definitions: Family, genus, variety and hybrids
• Looking at basic plant structure
• Highlighting what should actually be written on the label
• Handouts are provided

The afternoon walkabout cements the foundation of knowledge explored in the morning, putting theory into practice.
